Well Pimptiva isn't going to make it to ohiostiva, but his little brother BIG BIRD will get me there just fine.
I figure I will share some pics of his progress since he wont be zipping around down in moraine.
This last picture in the set shows my clearance without modifying the frame at all in anyway. My dad took the protege's pulley and had the AC part machined off, and then cleaned up. Gives me plenty of room. Once I have the engine mount made it should be where im holding it in the picture.
The altenator is still really close but about 1/4 inch of clearance, so worst case I have to take off altenator to get belt replaced. Not that hard :-)
My biggest mistake was not using the 1.3 metal plate that goes between tranny and engine, I had to have a couple of little plates made to cover holes where the flywheel was visible. This winter when I pull the engine out of a complete build up, I will put the 1.3 spacer plate in.
I just hope it runs when I start it :-) Black bumpers I think look good with all the other black trim on the car, and the tint. The grill and hood will be color matched to the car, but for now they are black to. I will post more pics when the car is rolling. And the engine isn't staying that color, I orginally painted it for my red festiva, but things change :-)
