  • The latest addition to the family Festiva fleet!

    Picked this up today...

It's a 92 GL Sport 5 speed with just over 250,000km (155,000mi). Found it on Kijiji and the ad was very vague... it did say that it was red and needed some bondo. It's been sitting for a while but started right up. Needs brakes, a muffler, drivers side axle and a good cleaning. It has considerably less body rust than my current car so the initial thought is to fix up the body of this one then transfer all my goodies over to it.

Forgot to mention... still has the rear cargo cover! Passenger side manual mirror and spoiler are standard on the Sport but not the underseat tray. The alloys are the white ones. Quite happy with the find but won't rushing into anything with it.

Those wavy stripe decals are definitely dated fashion-wise but bargain re-painted cars rarely sport them. I personally have grown attached to the ones I have. Uniform white is my favourite, the other versions are light at the front and get progressively darker towards the back. My metallic blue LX parts car had the same stripe but in a martian green.

Bert, that's kinda creepy! lol. You don't just collect Festivas, but you collect them with matching squiggle stripes. Very nice!

Ian, Good score. Are you going to retire the family RV to the Festiva ranch?

In fact all of this is a fluke (the stripes) except for the red bodies. You don't have to think long and hard to figure out the advantage to that scenario, especially since all of them are 93s.
