hi, i´m in a project right now, a "wide body" to my 1996 Kia pride, the wheels hit the fenders, so... my solution for this hahaha ... a fiber glass wide body

Looks awesome, but please tell me you're doing it with sheet metal and not by layering on a 2" thick layer of body filler...

It's just body filler, but i'm using it just to create the right shape that i want for the fiberglass that i want to use in the final result.

FYI, I used sandable foam. It comes in a 2 part liquid. mix equal parts and it reacts making a nice sandable foam.. then fiberglas over it. When I did my fender, I encased the foamed area with fiberglas so I didn't have to scoop all the foam out later. I am doing my dash the same way. It's soooo much easier to shape than bondo. We did a fender like you are doing, and it weighed like 50lbs when finished.. Whereas the foam one weighed less than 10lbs.

I've found a fairly easy way to apply it to stationary vertical items like the quarterpanel. get a cardboard box big enough to do the job, open the top and tape the top folding pieces to your prepped 1/4 panel so that you have this box stuck to the side of your car. Make sure that the tape is tight and sealed. (1 misstep here will waste the foam and make a mess as it will find the weak spot in your seal and pour out onto the floor instead of building up filling the box)

Cut a hole in the box at the top (was the side before it was taped to the car) mix the foam and pour it in. If you did it right, the foam will expand in the box sticking to the 1/4 and start oozing out the hole where you poured it in. give it 15-20 mins.. then cut away the box.. now your ready to start carving.. This is very good stuff, but damn sticky if you get it where you shouldn't.
