Corona would be the lap of luxury compared to my 35 year old fond memories of pedalling around in a tiny 2 door Corolla Sprinter of the same vintage. But beware, parts are not going to be five and dime variety anymore.

There are many who would seek out Maseratis, Porsches, Rolls Royces, and the like, if they had the correct digits from a corner store hail Mary, but I prefer such as above, because the people that you meet in such vehicles (like Festivas) make you rich in more ways than just what a lottery can give you.
        In love with a MadScientist!:thumbright:
There's a fine line between breathtaking ingenuity and "That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen!"

Nicely stated and a good summary of conspicuous and flaunting wealth vs subtle and discrete common man rolling history lessons.
Mind you Coronas were top of the line at the time. And a 2 door must have been as frivolous as you could aspire to from a full size Japanese car.

All the coronas I've seen have been sedans until today.

I wouldn't turn down an old Mercedes 600 Grosser as seen in a UK episode of Top Gear, Saddam used to have one, they are way cool, but that's after I make my 3rd Billion... Until then these old Japanese cars will have to do me

Dad had one of these when he first got his license, later that night it was sitting on its roof in a ditch. The next day he jacked the roof out and drove it around for awhile. Good thing grandpa had a towing service that dad worked at for years so he didn't have to pay for the tow.

But that one is right color and everything.
