Ha! My wife and I were enjoying lunch at the cafe located at my work. She looked out the window and giggled when she saw my Festiva surrounded. It definitely made my small car look even smaller!

Yeah... Freightliner Cascadia Sleeper (Or the Coronado right next to me) = HUGE. Cascadia would dwarf an excursion, like an excursion dwarfs the Festy.

I was actually parked next to another truck when I backed in. I'm sure he was more worried that they would hit me, and not be able to see it...

On the other hand 'who's paying for the gas'. Always we (Festy owners) are dwarfed by almost everything out there but so are our fuel bills. Festy's can do what Yuppie Smarts claim 2X over and those particular cars can't do anything but carry 2 passengers and maybe a case of beer.
I take pride in saying 'this car cost nothing, is easy and cheap to fix, will pull a trailer and carry a lift of plywood', has lots of room and glass all around, move 4 people and still get 50 mpg (Imperial); how about yours?
Then again Fiat Topolino, Citroen 2CV and Austin Mini precede us by decades, and they are smaller yet.

To blow your mind... On controlled tests, the new DD-15 (Detroit Diesel 15l) EPA-13 with the "Evolution" Package has recorded 14 MPG, while towing! For those of you that know big trucks, you know that is INSANE. I'm glad to work for Daimler, as Freightliner is MILES ahead of any other big truck company when it comes to innovation.

^ I have my personal oppinion of Frightshakers. The only one I like is our 1963 White Frieghtliner C.O.E.. Everything after that is all about the 13 letter sh** spreader. (International) :p I am happy to see they brought Diesel back into the name. Brings me back to the two strokes. We have two 71 series DD's one is a 2-71 in our Allis Chalmers crawler, the other a 6-71 in our '53 GMC PD-4103 highway bus. Had to poke at you, all in fun though.
Now back to the OP I wish I had the picture from when my dad hauled my Festiva on his RGN trailer, the thing looks tiny in a 28' well with three axels in front and behind of it. LolMike Holmgren

^There is a reason that Freightliner is destroying the competition on heavy and medium duty trucks. The market share is at 40%. That means that 40% of all big trucks purchased right now are Freightliner, and the other 60% is made up of: Mack, International, Volvo, Kenworth, etc... International is in a LOT of trouble right now, after the government decided to not let them break the law any more with their non-compliant engines. Really fun how they are eating their words and going to everyone from Cummins to Volkswagen trying to find a way to make their engines compliant. You can suck on a pipe of a DD-15 Freightliner and you'll be breathing in Nitrogen, and pure good old H20... And as far as economy goes, nothing comes close.
Sorry, like I said, I have been employed by the largest Freightliner dealer in the US for the past 5 years, and for the past two, I'm actually employed by Daimler Trucks North America AND the dealership, as a liaison to the worlds largest refrigerated carrier.

^Facts are facts... The days of big boxy trucks blowing black smoke are gone... Wind tunnel tested economical trucks, that are better for the environment are here.

Okedokey. I still have the same oppinion, that won't change. Lol I personally could never find myself getting into one of those things. That is where I am leaving this.
Also I didn't realize the Lonestar, or the Prostar for that matter are big and boxy, nor do they blow out black smoke.
It is clear that we will not agree on Trucks. I appoligize only because this is not the place for brand bashing or anything like that, so I appoligize for that. So instead we shall end this with I love Festivas, so do you and that is where it stays.
One other thing, I have family in Salt Lake, next time I visit them I will have to send you a PM, go to the Sapp Bros and grab a bite to eat, then we can chew each others ears off, Lol.Mike Holmgren
