  • This completes my transition to Redneck

Man, is this Gitjo fun to play! I love being able to play something else in the band besides drums! Makes me feel like a real musician, LOL.

Any suggestions on what to use for a pick? A regular guitar pick doesn't work real well for me. I'm used to playing acoustic with my bare thumb and fingers, but I can't get the bright sound or volume out of the Gitjo that way. I don't do any finger picking like a Banjo, mostly chord strumming and up beat accent in the back ground of Bluegrass songs. I like to do some fast strumming on some songs, but I can only do that with my bare thumb. I've tried a thimble....that has a nice bright sound and works OK....but there has to be something better. I'm open to suggestions.... Just remember, Im a drummer LOL. I've only played guitar less than a year, so I'm not very good. I've got it down well enough to be able to keep up with the rest of the band playing Rhythm with basic chords, but I got a lot to learn.
