I just got back from two weeks in the DR, and on a tour into Santa Domingo I saw a bunch of Festivas and 121's. I saw about 20 in total and managed to snap a couple pics when the van briefly slowed down from light speed.

Awesome! Now put one in a briefcase and bring it back for me.
If they ask what's in the luggage at the airport, just say it's a toy car! Seems legit.

Here's what I'm thinking:
2006-04-17 Dear Valued Customer: In order to recover our schedule integrity, and to provide a fixed day, twice weekly sailing,(Wednesdays and Saturdays from Port Everglades), we will omit calling Rio Haina the week of April 17th only. Please note that starting with voyage #6518, on Saturday, April 29th we are re-establishing roll-on / roll-off service […]
Relatively short trip. Need one Spanish speaking envoy to go pick cars and parts and finish coordination of load out. Take maybe four days or so? Fill one 40' shipping container with three Festivas and parts. Ship to Port Everglades, FL. Have folks there to pick up cars and parts for U.S. Festiva Club distribution.
Shouldn't this be cheaper than importing from Europe, Korea or Japan?

That's awesome. When I lived in Honduras. (Visited El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala...) I didn't see ANY! Tons of cool weird cars, but NO Festivas.
