I still need a truck. I hauled 180 cement pavers home last night, a $50 CL purchase. The steering was a little light.

The rear bumper was about 10" off the ground, pic doesn't do it justice. The guy I bought the blocks from suggested I make two trips. I started off loading them onto a pallet on the front of the tractor. After unloading about half I notice one rear wheel of the tractor was off the ground. Not real stable like that since the front axle is pinned in the center. I quickly started removing some.

FIFTY BUCKS! A festy and a trailer with above normal common sense about hills and stopping and well below average sense of safety with 2000lbs behind you at urban speed would haul that load just fine!!

Once you make the mistake of hauling loads like that a few times it slowly dawns of you that the headlights need to be re-adjusted downwards. And having the springs re-arched only lasts about a year. Neat to see though that a vintage pickup can actually work for a living. Today's powderpuff machines only have room for about 1/2 of that and then somebody will be cautioning you about invalid warranties.

Amen to that ! I don't have to worry about scratching the paint either. The old dodge is ugly but only has 60,000 miles on it. As a 4 x 4 it's a lot more useful around the place than the van it replaced.

We have hauled everything almost with a festiva... one time we hauled a poratable garage... wood frame with tarp material cover... We nailed a board from each side one over the hood and other over the roof. Didn't have to go far but it was still pretty funny to see a garage driving around...

I hauled this on my old hyundai... it pulled it great and stopped fine but the rear suspension took a beating.

90 festiva BP/G25MR swap, spec v seats, aspire brakes, FMS springs, round headlight conversion with HID's, custom exhaust, fiberglass hood, and a whole lotta bodywork
