Zoom , looking at the history of the truck, the mandated fuel and the fact that it has sit for a while it might pay off to check the little screens in the fuel injectors.
At least it is something you can do for free.

Another for free test, unplug the EGR vacuum and try it.

Have we talked MAP sensor yet?

I wasn't trying to figure them out at all. Just trying to scavenge all the clamps and hoses (in case I need some some for a Festy project) in advance of tossing out the Aspire specific steering pump and manifolds.

If you say you had a 85 F250 at one time pretty much for sure (3/4 ton is/was considered commercial-rated until about 1988) if it had the six there would have been no pollution junk or Cat. I'm surprised your bomb doesn't have the 5 speed overdrive unless what you have is the truck 4 speed with creeper low. On the 5 speed the integral tranny and bellhousing and internal hydraulic slave cylinder is not one of Ford's 'better ideas' but then again the M5ODR2 was built by Mazda.

I think it depended on the GVW. 8600+ was classified as "heavy duty" and did not require a catalyst system. My old '82 F250HD had a heavier frame compared to a std F250 and sway bars on front and back. It had a carb'd 351W/4sp, a 4.10 posi rear end and no catalytic converter from the factory. There was a sticker under the hood that said it conformed to requirements of Heavy Truck and was equipped with a non-catalyst emissions system. I don't THINK the regular F250 (<8600Lb) was that way.

BTW: That truck was a real beast, lol. Only 77k actual miles but someone beat it like a red headed step child.

IIRC, my old f250 had 3.55 open rear end. Sounds like what was written on the pumpkin..It's been a few years lol.... but I know it didn't have any of the pollution junk, I could crawl in the engine bay on either side and close the hood lol, a buddy of mine did it while I was putting some chain links in place of the motor mounts :p

If I can get this thing running good I plan on keeping it at my house..so it will eventually get a nice makeover and use a smaller serp belt lol.. there's a few bushings that need replaced, but overall this truck is in pretty good shape, virtually NO rust...well a little, but my grandfather took good care of it.

Complete fluke but in offering to dispose of (and to scavenge) a derelict 85 F150 Lariat a couple of years ago I managed to find it had one of the last OEM 3.00 ratio Ford "9 inch" rear ends. The original 3.55 diff on mine was promptly swapped out and in combination with an adapted 5 speed my mileage has gone up. Got 25 mpg (Imperial gallons) on an inaugural highway run last spring. Best I could do before that was around 22-23 mpg. If my Festy could achieve mileage in proportion to the weight of the truck I'd be laughing.
