            5 Years Later-July 2010

Yep-5 years later and Little Pogi is still going strong! Original R12 Aircon sprang a leak, but no other problems since I bought it in 2005..Change oil/filter every 3000KM, rotate tires same mileage, yearly front end alignment and replace a couple of rubber bushings on front stabilizer..That's it!..Next year she is an antique, so going to get her a new paint job and some fancy tires and wheels-She has earned it!..Cheers from the Philippines!

Parts are thick here in the Philippines..I live in Cavite and there is a scrap yard a few kilometers from my house that is packed with engines and tons of smaller hard to find interior parts for CD5's..Body parts are hard to come by, but electronics/wiper motors/lights/radiators etc. are pretty easy to find...There is always a few CD5's for sale at around P25,000 (low enough priced to scrap) online too. In my area there are probably a lot more areas that have spare parts for these CD5's that I have yet to discover-I really don't look much though, because mine really has no problems that are major..Cheers

Stock up on parts man, thats what I would do. Even though they are plentiful, better safe than sorry right

There would be some interesting parts you could sell us via Paypal (do they do that in the Phillippines?). Instrument clusters with tach and 200KM/H speedos; the 1.1 motors (which we would then turbocharge); other trim pieces. How about some pictures of what's available over there, for us to drool over and pick out stuff we want?

I'm retired expat living here and what you are asking sounds like starting up a business, which I'm (sorry to say) am not interested in (been there done that in the USA)...Next time I'm over to that area though, I'll chat with the owners and give them this website and get their local number (don't think they have any website of their own) and add it to this post..Yes I do believe that they do have PayPal here in RP, but I have not done the E-Bay thing in over 6 years since I moved here and no longer even have a PayPal account-nor want one...You may also find shipping to the USA and others-Not Very Cost Efficient from here...Especially when you are talking 1.1 engines..Cheers

                          Used Parts Address/Phone Philippines

I dropped by the place in Bacoor, Cavite today that sells used parts including engines for Kia Prides..The address and phone is:

                          Sang Young Auto Parts Center
                          Longos, Zapote V
                          Bacoor, Cavite-Philippines

                          Rossana A. Marbella. Prop

                          Tel: 063-46-502-3752

They have tons of stuff including center consoles etc. hanging from the ceiling w/option switches still attached if you are wanting to add extra factory options to your ride-Engines 1.1-1.5 etc, complete from exhaust manifold to thermostat housing and carb/fuel injection included..Rossana speaks pretty good English, so you shouldn't have much problem working out a deal...Didn't get a chance to chat much with her though, she was busy with customers, so I don't know how receptive she would be to shipping items overseas (many Kia Prides on the road still here and business is good for them locally) ..Good luck..Cheers
