  • Festiva Sweeper

I haven't been on in a while. Graduated College, and have bought a small house on Lake Erie down near Point Pelee Ontario. The backyard is almost an acre of grass. The yard was covered with leaves, and my lawn mower didn't want to start. I used my spare festiva that I got for parts. It came with a hitch set up, I took the ball off and the sweeper attatched right on.

It worked well, not 100%. I've never used it before but I had fun and it was better than raking. As you can see from the second picture I dinged my passenger corner light. The neighbour had some phatom stick that was protuding through their fence, that I was not aware of. If anyone has one for sale, I'll need to buy one. I have 6 head light spares but no corner lights ffs.

Theres a full view of the yard. I plan on planting a vegetable garden next spring. I'm always inspired by the garden photos that are posted in this forum. I'm looking at a 3rd festiva sometime next week if it is not sold.

Send me a PM if you got a passenger corner light for sale.

      We're almost neighbors!

I think I can almost make out your license plate.
Angles bad, maybe in the early morning light if I'm on top of my building!

        That's great!

A mower deck would help you mow most of that big yard later on too!

If you can't get a corner light from someone in Canada, I can send you one for $10 plus shipping (not sure how much that would cost).

Send me a PM if you need it or want to see a picture, etc. It's not faded and in good shape, with the little metal strut but no screws.

Yet another awesome use for a Festiva. I don't think I've seen that done before . Also, very jealous of that flat lot!
          No festiva for me ATM...

I'm familiar with the Welland Area. I lived in St.Catharines for two years while taking the Horticulture program at Niagara College. I have to make a trip there soon to visit friends and buy soil. I parked my road festiva for the winter. They salt the roads to much and I need to preserve my festiva. Have to wait til spring to make that trek.

Pu241, gotta love Erie. Whats the shoreline like where you live? From the backyard down to the water is a 70ft bluff. There are clay "hoodoos" which I had previously never seen before.

I've accumulated a bunch of free wood that I'm planning on building a stairway down to the water next year.

Haha Karl I've thought about the mower deck idea. I don't have the technology to cobble something like that up. But I would love to see it happen.

I'll see if any Canadians have the corner light first. If not, I'll be in touch.

htchbck. This part of Ontario is very flat. Makes it easy to mow the lawn. The house is surrounded by farms.

The only downside to this area is the large number of wind turbines that have been put in as part of our "green energy movement". We have these David Suzuki type globalist that preach green energy, and want to turn off all our coal power plants "to save the earth" . They cause the cost of electricity to skyrocket. While they fly around in their private jets and are paid by middle east oil to make these trendy green do-gooders feel good about us shutting down all our business and paying way more for electricty. While China opens up a new coal plant every week. A lot of major industry has moved out of this area. The International truck plant shut down, and Heinz ketchup of leamington is set to close down.

You should put up your own wind turbine, some solar panels, and get off the grid!

Yeah, I need to do it too.

Jumbo, could you give me a heads up if any nearby wrecking yards have festivas? I take it so far you havent found one. I drove to guelph (2 hours) for nothing.

I'd like to drive in the snow but, I'll leave that for my 4x4 truck. I need to do suspension work on my road festiva. I've been keeping a look out for aspires. Festivas and Aspires are real hard to come by around here. I haven't seen a festiva in a JY for a couple years. I'll let you know if i see one. I usually scout kijiji for them.

I'm waiting to hear back from this ad

Find great deals on new and used cars and trucks with Kijiji Autos: thousands of great cars for city driving, families, luxury, fun and more!

I NEED those clear corners. And always wanted a black festy for the collection.

As far as the Wind turbines, they are a terrible idea. They destroy the view of the skyline. Since its so flat here, all you can see for miles are these darn wind turbines. Each one costing millions of dollars to produce and maintain. Their effeciency is weak. And worst of all they placed them in the most sensitive bird migration point of Canada. I get front row seats to the "green energy" bird slaughter.
