I went to AutoZone and looked up what the part number was for my gauge cluster lights because the tach side wasn't lighting up anymore and I was looking at the bulbs and found these pilot less that worked.just have to pull your cluster out and the lights are right on the back.they're like a little nob you twist to pull out,I did my turn signals also,I found led bulbs for the top of the cluster on eBay there's a little panel with two bulbs in it on the top of the cluster also i just removed the green tint and replaced the bulbs with blue one,I can get you the part number if you want me to.About the hardest part is trying to finagle the Speedo cable back in but its not that bad.

If you take the cluster apart and use aluminum tape as a reflector in all the pockets and clean all the dust out these clusters are really bright. I like that blue effect!

If you take out the lens that covers the top (front) lights and sand it with 80 grit it will tone it right down and make it much more tolerable. It'll also help it spread out better instead of just having spots.

Another good one! Gotta try all this stuff now. Nice little mods showing up here. Here's another: inside the back of the cluster, where the bulb is located for the backlighting, there is a little molded wall partly around it. Dremel that off for more light. It may only be in the non-tach or the tach cluster, I forget, but I do remember doing it. Might as well check for it, while you have it apart to install the aluminum tape.

Got some aluminum tape and installed it inside the instrument housing. The only problem I had before was reading the trip odometer at night. Now I can read it fairly easily if I move my head forward about 12". Before, I actually needed a small flashlight to read it. My cluster is a Festy tach cluster that I modded by putting in a 140-mph early-90s Protege speedo.

I'm gonna try this on a non-tach cluster too and see if it makes a difference. I think on the non-tach clusters only the speedo section is backlit, with the smaller gauges being lit only from above in front. I have two non-tach clusters; one is stock and one has the Protege speedo in it, which I used in Matthew with a small aftermarket tach.
