  • I am now the owner of the "Jalopnik" Festiva

I recently picked up the "Jalopnik Festiva" from the guy who bought it in New Jersey. The guy I bought it from said he bought it because it reminded him of a Golf GTI. Anyone on here know the builder? It has a BP swap, clear (faded) corners, power mirrors, and an Escort GT seat swap. The Jalopnik post was from 2012 and I was way out of Festivas then.

There's always a party at Ford, it's only the venue that changes. Today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe Festiva represents a party sort of like our political third parties in that no one really wants to come. This one may be different, but will its price have you wanting to party on?

I'll probably make a build thread of the car once I start tearing into it, it's like 4 degrees here and I don't wanna deal with the cold. I think the transmission is broken (won't go into any gear) and it has some questionable intake things done to it. It also fights to start.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

Here's a pic of the engine. Someone added some type of engine mount on the left side. Also the intake is stupid and is probably a source of the vacuum leaks.

That "mount" is the revised GM dog bone for the 60* v6 engines. Its a torque mount, controls engine movement.

It's interesting because it was added since the previous owner or at least since the original CL ad.
