  • My (currently ricer) freshly painted MX-ZE

I spent all of last week painting my car b/c it was Spring Break. Too bad it rained half the damn 10 days I had off so I had to hold off on spraying some parts I removed & didn't even have time to sand the front bumper and spray it as well.

So, the result is a freshly painted body and primered spoiler, sunroof, door handles, fuel door & mirrors. So yeah, I get a lot of blank stares and laughs when driving around, but whatever.

I just finished painting the rims yesterday too so I'll add that pic:

shaved the stock antenna & put a FUBA from a 03' lancer on there to clean up the look

This is what happens when you put shrouding over top of the car after 6 hours of dry time. I pulled the plastic off an hour later to find it messed up the clearcoat a bit. Luckily its so light that I can take some car polish & remove the haze easily. You can see the orange peel on the right of the pic....not too bad at all.

Here is the pic w/the painted wheels (as of today):

The color is "Noble Green Metallic" which is a euro-spec MX-3 color that didn't find its way on many cars. I think it might have been limited edition but i'm not sure. I am trying to source these sideskirts for my car but have been having no luck whatsoever

    finish

Wil, those side skirts look a lot like ones on the N/B Miata sport package I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are the same animal. worth a look anyway.

Also I bet the people laughing aren't laughing long when you spank them, and leave them, listening to your car because it sounds very ferrarilike, they will probably be wondering what exactly it was that spanked them.

I like it I think I like it better than the Silver and I'm sure once you're done it'll look awesome. Keep up the good work. -Kyle

Ya, the skirts are a lot like em. But the part behind the miatas door isn't as long as on m ycar so they wouldn't fit w/out fabrication.

I think I might have a lead on some presso skirts (a lil different)

what do you think of these?

those skirts seem a little over the top to me, but then i like the cleaner look, i love mx-3's and that is a beautiful example. i may have to add one to my stable after i finally get the vortech for my cougar and the tranny swap done. too many projects too little time... he heh and with gas hitting 2.35 a gallon my festiva is getting most of the attention
