My buddy's festar update, It's alive!

Wow, looks extensive to say the least. Id bet a lot of thought has gone into that. Is the oval on the front grill going to be a huge ford oval? He is definitely one of us. To bad he wont join, we could use his knowledge.

The oval is just black and done. I can ask him questions and post his responses. I'll be his moderater. He is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I posted an ad in the local trading post for festiva parts for sale about 8 months ago. He showed up and we hit it off. His garage with this car was just 5 blocks from my house and I had never stumbled across it. We have traded many parts over the past few months.

That's weird, after owning festivas as long as you have and then finding someone into festivas like that five blocks from you. I'm still hoping to personally meet an other festiva enthusiast. That car really is festiv..art. :!: The fact that he has pursued such an aggressive festy build w/o influence is cool. You can see its a labor of love.

that was weird I mean man he was right on top of me. I went to his apartment and it was festiva heaven. Three side by side. Red royal blue and robin egg blue as he calls it. He's my hero! Smart, nice, and humble. he shows up to my house in a different festiva each time he visits.

UPDATE ....
He finished a rough wiring job and it fires up and runs. He got the trans with the motor and he knew it might be bad. It was. The yard he got it from gave him a good transmission to replace it. He made a very short custom muffler and exhaust and that 3.0 taurus V6 has some serious throaty rumble to it. Sounds like a 5.0 really. He also has been fabbing custom rear fenders to fit the bigger wheels and tires. I'll post more pics a little later after the fenders are done. He doesn't have the speedo hooked up yet. The temp guage and fuel gauges are working though. A little at a time and it's getting there. I'm helping him swap the trans pretty soon.

Trans swapped, pulled out under it's own power. Slung some gravel in the alley by the garage. Took it on the road around the block. There's a ton to do, but it's alive! More to come.
