  • got the dash pulled and painted today

yeah i know it looks funny with the crappy carpet, i think the next purchase might have to be a new blue carpet. the steering wheel is going bye bye too in the next couple of days, i have a nice grant leather wheel waiting for the install kit, just forgot to write down which one i needed when i made the run to the parts store for the paint lol. After i found the white tach cluster at the u-pick-it yard i just had to do something about the faded brown dash!

Looks pretty good. Probably a stupid question but is that spray-paint, or did you dye it? Just wondering.

It's paint, not as durable as I'd like but I was mainly just getting a feel for it, my dash has a spot that the factory grain is messed up a bit, so I'm going to replace the dash eventually and I'll dye it then.

Thanks, just wondering. Thinking about pulling and coloring parts of my dash.

i say go with leather, i've always hated tweed. Suede could be cool too, velour, well if you wanna be big-pimpin maybe, but don't go all blue, throw some white in there to mix it up.

I am trying to reach aithanmier to find out what company makes this paint and the name. I checked Oreilly's online and can't seem to find it. If anyone has a direct connection to him I would be grateful. I am in sort of a jam. I already ordered my vinyl to have my seats door panels done and I have to have the exact dash color to match.

              Thanks Guys!

You should do the panels brown. I don't care what they say, brown goes with that blue!

Stefan. He sent me an email message in December. He used an offset 10mm Brake caliper wrench to release the bolts from the dash.

                        To All,

I received an email from aithanmier (Joel) today and he gave me the info for the paint. It is Vinyl & Fabric coating from DupliColor. The color is
called Vinyl Blue. It's part of their Tuner line. The paint code is HVP102. Advance Auto Parts carries it, I picked up some today. Thought someone else might come looking for this color as well.
