I couldn't agree with you more on that one buddy... the metal doesn't weigh all that much, but I lost around 180lbs when I chopped mine, most of that weight was the rear glass
    No festiva for me ATM...

wow, that is horrible what they did to that car.
There is no replacement for displacement, except for the turbo in my basement.

If you read the article, they said they're saving someone from an ass-pounding. Which means they probably got the car from the cops who had it impounded from street racing, and instead of going to jail, the owner is giving the car up to be destroyed.

Reminds me of the old CaddyHack article where they do the same thing to a Cadillac. They started out out by loading the Caddy with as many people and parts as they could to see if they could get it heavy enough to where a stock Bug could beat it. Even loaded to the max the big old Caddy V8 smoked the Bug!! I forget how fast it was after cuttting it up but it was pretty impressive!

1993 Aqua Festiva and it was cheap!
1994 Brake Swap and it was cheap!

This article was in Sport Compact Car about 3 or 4 years ago and I remember thinking who could be dumb
enough to let them do that to their car. So i always wondered where it came from, its a 7-9,000 car (or atleast
it was) and nobody is really that stupid. Are they?

The interesting part is how times improved. Since they get into Festiva weight ranges and are making 120 - 140 hp
what alot of you guys with engine swaps are making you can get a good idea of what your running (or could be
with a good strip job). 14.3 is pretty quick and on slicks they would be deep into 13s.
Nothing says "triumph of enthusiasm over physics" like a Front Wheel Drive race car.
