  • The Girlfriend's New Festiva Project.

Let me start by saying we were cleaning out the garage today, please ignore the mess.

My GF picked this up a few weeks ago at the Police auction for $125. It's a '93 GL auto. She just wanted to part it out, put the alloys and a few other parts on her '92 L, but I think the body is way too nice to scrap. There isn't a spot of rust and other than the one dented fender and hood it's perfectly straight.

    Nice flames. lol.

Little dent, but the rad support, inner fender aren't bent.

    None of the usual cancer.

    And best of all...

OMGzors!!!!1!1!! This baby is Vortech supercharged.

    I wish...

That car is so clean!!! All it needs is a few minor things to be fixed up and it's like a brand new car.

That's what I though. The local pullapart has 2 red Festies with decent fenders and hoods. It would just be such a shame to scrap.

I kinda think I might keep it auto, swap a B6 or something else easy into it, and just make it a nice clean daily driver for her. LuxoFesty?

Anwyay, I'd love to know why someone stuck a huge Vortech sticker on the back window...

What's gas milage like with a BP?

My girlfriend likes borrowing my Sentra for feeway driving. It'd be nice to match the Sentra for freeway ability, but beat the Sentra milage (not hard to do). I have an automatic BP, the engine is definitely going in mine, but BPs are fairly easy to find cheap around here.

I think it would be cool to fix her up a nice one, hers is getting pretty shabby (hope she doesn't read this), and she got me mine for free, introduced me to the world of Festivas, and all that...

as far as auto trannys go i had a festiva with the 3 speed auto and no over drive dont think they ever made one with od but anyways from driving the auto to the manual 5 speeed big difrence in MPG and i dont think a BP would help. i personally like the autos though espically in traffic or when your just to tired to shift. i would buy another auto but like i said there is a big diffrence i noticed in MPG comparing the two like Dj said somewhere around 30-33 sounds about right and 40-45 on a 5 speed but some bigger 13 tires on it.

Dj is talking about 33MPG with a BP and an automatic... My 5-speed BP gets up to 38 when I drive it nice, but usually down in the low 30s cause usually I thrash it
                    No festiva for me ATM...

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

Heavy foot for me is 80 no traffic. When I hit traffic the mileage dives to about 28-30. Sure wished I had an OD on it though, mpg would be soooo much better.

My mileage on my B6/ATX has dropped to about 21 mpg. Something's wrong. I'll have to troubleshoot this when the weather warms up. My two rear tires have slow leaks and I usually catch them before they get under 25 psi, but I don't think that is the whole problem. I do enjoy my spirited driving, and the engine may be having head gasket problems.

I wonder how difficult it would be to put in a 323 four speed ATX? We really need four gears and a lockup TC! That three speed auto really sucks the power out of the motor!

Oh, BTW, nice car, Jimmy! Fix 'er up!!
