Heres a little summary of the work i've been doing to my festy.
When i got it it was dead and the interior was GROSS!
I just did a few minor tuneup things and thats all it took to get it running. But then on it's maiden voyage the timing belt broke! :x so i replaced that, and while i was at it i replaced the water pump, and flushed the coolant. Now its running again.
With that taken care of i moved my efforts to the interior.

and those pictures dont even do justice! it was gross in there. in the drivers foot well there was more than an inch of ice that i had to chip out.
So none of that was staying. I ripped out the interior completely. Everything but the dash was trashed.
The carpet was the worst, it was MOLDY underneath. There was a yellowish mold underneath. Thats why it smelled in there! So by now you must get the idea, with all that water what condition do you think the floor boards were in?

yay! fun!
so i cut out all the rust and welded in patches. then i coated the floor with tremclad (rustoleum in the US). But that wasn't good enough! then i got some truck bed liner in aresol cans and coated the floor with that!

Then i started hitting junkyards so get new interior pieces.
i scored a really nice headliner

and some nice plastic pieces.

so i whent to work putting in that new headliner

i put in the insulation. hey, you need all the insulation you can get up here in canada

and then finally the headliner, with new A&B pillar mouldings

i found an unbelievably clean carpet (atleast really clean for up here)
I cleaned it good first with the central vac inside the house before putting it in.
here it is on its way in

and all fitted.

while i was at it i made a new cover for the spare tire.

i transferred the plastic guides and the carpet pieces over to the new one.

I also got new speaker shelves and minty rear seatbelts.

and thats all i got for now.
i still need to find seats, door panels, front seatbelts, and cargo area panels. The only problem is there arent any festivas in the yards here that have these pieces (that or there destroyed  )
It must have something to with the extreme temperatures up here or something, but i havent seen one car where the door panel vinyl wasn't all cracked.
