you should see if you can put the aspire's sway bar into the festiva rear end or do the aspire swap because youll find out soon enough the rear end gets really light because of the roll in the rear. You can see this here...
Thats with KYB gr2s, ground controls (300in/lb up front, 200 rear), and the roll cage (including rear strut brace).

Kyle, I saw this the other day and enjoyed it, but sorry I didn't comment. I'm not into racing so I didn't think I could add anything too useful.
Just for the record, I have been tending to add mechanical and performance/handling mods to my cars ahead of the "looks good" stuff. Look at Luxstiva from outside and it takes someone familiar with our cars to notice the Aspire alloys that wouldn't fit onto an unmodded Festiva. It would take even more notice to recognize the engine ain't stock. Even some 1.3s may have a 2" tailpipe, so that isn't definitive.
My "Speedstiva" project ain't happening until the middle or end of summer, when I do my MTX B6 swap. Until then, it's just "Twinstiva" for a second car so I can do Lux up right with an Aspire ATX and finish up the halfass work I originally did. Then, and only then, I get me a sunroof installed!
Some of your racing mods simply aren't practical on a street car. I like the wide tires, but I have 165/70-13s on Lux because that's the best compromise of handling and fuel economy for a B6 automatic that isn't expected to have more than 96 hp, tops. I love your LCA braces, but I am afraid of hitting things when going over bumps and road debris in the real world. I drove Lux to Canada and back last year, a trip of over 1000 miles, so I have to keep things "real." Still, you won't see any wings on my cars either!
I don't mind others doing stuff like that though. To each his or her own! I hate power windows and some of the other mods, but it's kinda neat to see others add different stuff to their cars even when I'd never do that to mine.
I just like Festivas!!

Ian, I didn't think I needed to mention that.. I do have the Aspire swap w/the 12mm anti sway bar. That's why I have the bigger brakes all around Aspire Auto stuff along w/the MC and Brake Booster stainless lines and most importantly 4x100... All the fun stuff..
Karl, I'm glad you posted anything positive is always nice! I know most of my mods are far from streetable but I do have to say due to the placement of the LCA brace being right where the tires are, I have never scraped it once on any speed bumps/humps/dips. I still do drive it pretty regularly, in fact I just passed NJ emissions testing w/the B6 SOHC and NO catalytic converter!

How much does yours weigh with you in it and a half tank? I still have my heater core and the Auto Aspire brakes which add some weight. As well as all the interior pieces you see in the pix. I am not allowed to remove anymore interior pieces due to the class I run with in SCCA. So w/o me in it and a 1/4 tank the car is right around 1700lbs. -KyleCosmic Blue 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 - Mostly Stock...

How far do they stick out (inches) hows the torque steer. I run 13x6 w/ 3.5 backspacing they stick out about 1.5"
I had some 13x6 2" BS and they stuck out about 3 inches and not only did it they look funny but torque steer was
just stupid. I thinking your setup may work quite well, while you have thrown of the scrub radius its only to one side
(outward) the stock wheel BS is 4" so you have just added tire outside. I am gonna get some slicks to I'm thinking
13x7 w/ 4" BS this will only add 1/2" to outside but will restore factory BS. What class do you run. I run Street
Prepared but will be switching to XP with the slicks. If you have a problem with the steering wheel never being center
(due to torque steer) just take it off and rotate a few notches (i love splined shafts) that way its level when you are
going straight under power. Just a tip - ChrisNothing says "triumph of enthusiasm over physics" like a Front Wheel Drive race car.

I was trying to eyeball measure it and it is about 1 7/8-2 inches. I run in Street Modified... The torque steer is suprisingly not bad although I have only driven the car w/those wheels and tires on it for about 5 miles. I will let you know a better idea when I actually race the car.. Hopefully next weekend. Tonight we are supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow so tomorrow's AutoX is off. -KyleCosmic Blue 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 - Mostly Stock...

Thanx packrat427!! I think with it being about 1/2" lower it looks much better..
Nate, it is a bit bouncy for the street with soft sidewall tires being as underdamped as it is. But with the race tires, it is AMAZING!! There are only a handful of cars that I have ridden/driven that have handled as well as this... None had street tires..
kuntry_boi06, thanx man. It just takes some time and some money and a lil determination :-) -Kyle
