you are all super jealous lol
this car has almost never been parked outside for more than 24hours in its 18 years of life
    EVERYTHING is original on it...
I did add an escort mirror, I need to get the other one on.
I painted the rims for them like 8 years ago so they need a real paint job...
its got factory undercoating so its rust free on the underside....
its got very little rust in the rear wheelwells and alittle under the doors......

this is gonna get me through college hopefully....
but I want some mazda rims (what others cars rims will fit it? I'm not gonna buy new aftermarket rims)
              spoiler
              thats about it
if it makes it through college I want to put a bp in it and turbo that...
but i'll prolly end up doing a b6t which I won't complain to much about...
at what mileage should you worry abou the rear wheel bearings?
I want to put in a new distributor, rear wheel bearings, and timing belt....
then she should run for at least another 100K miles

                  Hamburglar asked:

"At what mileage should you worry abou the rear wheel bearings?
I want to put in a new distributor, rear wheel bearings, and timing belt..."

If it's on it's original timing belt, I'd say replace it when you can if it's still under say, 60K miles. If it's over that, replace as soon as you can, but that's me. It might not be too worn or rotted at all, for all I know.

Check your rear wheel bearings by leaving off the parking brake and grabbing the tops of the rear tires and shaking side to side. If you detect any play, or if you hear a droning noise on turns when you are driving, replace them ASAP. It's not too expensive anyway. You could simply do it now for the experience and for "peace of mind."

A tune up may also be called for. Another pretty cheap deal.

Check brake lines, and all over and under the body for corrosion. Get on it early.

Also be sure and check your lower control arm/ball joints for any play. This is important!!

Oh, rims...look for pre-'90 Tracer or 323 alloys in 13" size. The Falken 175-60s are supposed to be a nice tire.

How many miles on this beauty?
