  • Festiva heaven (3D festy models)

ok, i've been messing around with gMax since last summer some time, on and off every few months, this is my first creation that i was playing with a little yesterday after eating easter dinner while the old folks were sitting around talking

its far from perfect, and as i said this is my first original design (i've made afew planes/characters following tutorials)...

    Festiva Heaven:

    Slammed shaved festy:

sometime in the next few months when i feel like playing around with it again i will be improving it so that it looks a little more realistic... the plan is to use the base model for modeling spoilers/sideskirts/skins...

AWESOME!!! Thats amazing work right there... as soon as I graduate I'm coming up there to virginia and you're going to teach me how to do that stuff, and in return I'll help ya finish up your B6 build and install it

Can you port that over to 3ds 9? I'd like to play with that a bit for importing to older versions of NFS.

sounds like a plan hatch! our house is always open i must say there is quite a learning curve (at least for me..) i spent hours going over tutorials and this is all i've come to so far, there is a lot more left for me to learn.

DJ, AFAIK gmax is the free-ware version of 3ds, so i would assume 3ds should be able to open the .gmax files? however i don't know. I tried to export it as different formats but it doesn't give me any additional options. I can send you the .gmax file tomorrow when i get to school, its like 500kb.

gmax is available from tubrosquid.com (i think the general public can download it, i installed mine from my FS9 extras disk)

let me know what you'd like... as i said i'm a relative noob at this stuff! I'm not even sure what it can be used for outside of gmax. i know you can use gmax to model flyable airplanes for FS, but not sure what else its useful for...
