  • Factory Festiva PS

Here I got that one from 1991 Festiva and that one is real factory festiva PS and here pictures what it look like...

I just play mess with it installing on my white festiva and it feel different like more easy to turns the wheel than one with manual steering. and same time I do installing A/C so the summer going to be hot!

Tech notes: It will not work great with 1988 - 1989 Festiva and even 1989 EFI too, since there missing pink color that connect to pump sensor. I believe that pink wire sensor sends to ECU. Ideally 1990 - 1993 would be fine and there the little pink wire connect hiding near to passenger's headlight if PS system optional didn't come with your festiva. It uses slight bigger size belt than one non PS system with A/C. The rubber boot on firewall for steering connect with rack it will need slight cut off some shorter size one.

^The Aspire PS and Festiva PS does not match at all!

Why on earth would you want to burden the poor little 1.3 with another accessory to drive? It's not like they need power steering...

I don't feel any HP loss at much if I using PS and I drive it fine with me. I wont said it's burden to B3 1.3L engine compare in other country PH I have see PS on B1 1.1L engine that's really more burden but they drive it fine too...

Does the Power Steering have any impact on gas mileage? Mine dropped about 4 mpg with the A/C on, but the power steering probably doesn't use as much power.

Nope I just leave dashboard alone, I just remove the glove box so it allow me to install A/C easy

Hmm.... On a long trip you're probably not turning the wheel much, assuming most/all of your driving is highway. I don't know if that would impact mileage since you're not really using the power steering at high speeds.

How about city mileage? Is that about the same?

I'm considering power steering as one of my mods.

Oh yes I do use turning wheel as often in city and it still not make any different with MPG so far with my car. I believe you can use from factory Aspire PS they will bolt on firewall same but hoses and pump might be different placement than factory PS Festiva. probably you will need change the inner rods and the elbow tie rods from festiva to make it work.

I'll look into the steering rack when I go to the 'yard and grab my Aspire suspension swap.

Can you get the hoses and pump from the Phillipines?

Also, where does the pump mount on the engine? I wasn't able to find it in the pictures.

Alright here picture of Aspire PS mount from engine, it's really smaller than festiva PS.

If you want use from Phillipines pump and hoses it will be similar kind of Aspire PS in here.

Remember, the Aspire pulley belt are different with festiva but you can use Aspire pulley stuffs like crankshaft pulley, water pulley, alternator, A/C if your festiva was 1993 or using aspire block engine (Sorry 1988 to 1992 festiva wont fit well)

Hmm - Cool stuff... I feel spoiled since I've been driving my Jeep with PS and now gone back to a Festiva without...

I've yet to find any of these in ANY of the Festivas I've gone through at the junkyards.
