I have a can of the same stuff (duplicolor 1200* paint) in my garage for the past week or so, i'm planing on doing my VC and exhaust header... just not sure if i should bake it in the house, how much did it stink up the house? are you guys serious about not baking any food in there for a while?
if i don't bake it in the house i'll just put it on the car and let the engine heat "bake" it a little, but i'm sure it won't be as good.

the keeper of a wonderful lil car, Skeeter.
Current cars:
91L "Skeeter" 170k, Aspire brakes, G15, BP, Advancedynamics coil overs, etc. My first love.
1990 Kawasaki Ninja 250 - my gas saver, 60+mpg - 40k
2004 MotoGuzzi Breva - my "longer range" bike - 17k
Your car has to be the most improved Festiva this year!
You haven't seen anything yet. The body is now 100% straight and im about 1/2 way done the fresh paint job.
And I've almost got all the interior replaced. All im still looking for is seats and door panels. I got the last plastic panels i needed last week. I found some spotless cargo area panels

Why do you say that? If your referring to how black the oven is, it was like that before

Its not bad at all. I just put it in the oven and turned on the exhaust fan. I also put a fan in the window blowing air out of the house. It smelled a little as it was baking, but you couldn't even smell it in the next room. When it was done, and i opened the oven it smelled kinda bad, but i turned the fan i had in the window to max and within 15 minutes you couldn't even tell i baked it.
I wouldn't really recommend not baking it, the paint is really soft before its cooked. At first i painted it, and wasn't going to bake it, but by the time i got to putting it on the car i had managed to chip it in several places so i wet-sanded those spots down and repainted it and baked it. Additionally, the paint changes color when its baked. At first i was kinda disappointed with the color, it wasn't anything like the color on the cap. But when it cooked the color changed to a nice glossy red.
This is the paint i used, sitting next to my freshly painted doors. Duplicolor high heat red
ok DO NOT bake that paint in your house hold oven! there are some toxic chemicals as stated above that can make you very sick i would persoanyl clean that oven good and maybe call the manufacturer and ask them what the risk of cooking in that oven again.
It's just not a good idea to bake paint in an oven you bake with... I'd suggest getting a spare and keeping it in the garage/basement with lots of vents to keep it "safe"... Just a personal suggestion, take it as you will.
