This is a shot showing the hole left after you remove the late model Festiva washer reservoir. This small hole will be enlarged to about 3 inches and will form the bottom of the cold air box, with ducting coming up into it.
After you remove the stock washer reservoir, you need to cut off the bracket welded to the bodyshell that is used to hold the upper part of the filler tube, since it will be in the way later. I used a Rotozip with a cutoff wheel, then primed the spot I cut.
This pic shows 3 other brackets that need to be cut off and removed so they will be out of the way for the swap. The first is the bracket spotwelded to the shock tower, that holds the stock airbox, the second is the bracket that holds the bottom of the stock airbox, and the third is the bracket that secures the intake crossover tube. Cut um all out of there! This will make room for the intercooler and intake plumbing, and the earlier model washer reservoir.
Another view, Wow! Look at that engine bay now! compare this to the B3 PIC, I cleaned the crud out of the engine compartment and this is always a good idea, It makes working in there much nicer, with getting too filthy. I painted the engine compartment silver, not only to match the car's future color, but also to make any leaks more visible later.
