PINPOINT TEST FW: FRONT WINDOW WIPERS


FW5 CHECK FRONT WIPER MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT


l Key OFF.

l Disconnect the front wiper motor connector.

l Measure the resistance of the following wires between the front wiper motor connector and ground under the following conditions:
 

Front Wiper Switch Position             Wire                     Resistance

 OFF                                              BL/BK           Greater than 10,000 ohms

                                                    BL/W            Greater than 10,000 ohms  

                                                    BL/R              Greater than 10,000 ohms

Low                                                 BL/BK           Greater than 10,000 ohms

                                                       BL/W            Less than 5 ohms

                                                       BL/R             Greater than 10,000 ohms

High                                                  BL/BK          Greater than 10,000 ohms

                                                        BL/W           Greater than 10,000 ohms

                                                        BL/R             Less than 5 ohms
 

One-Touch                                         BL/BK           Greater than 10,000 ohms

                                                        BL/W            Less than 5 ohms

                                                         BL/R            Greater than 10,000 ohms

l Are the resistances OK?

Yes
REPLACE the front wiper motor.

No
GO to «FW6».
