things keep changing with me... but, tonight i think i solved all my problems!
got rid of my GF! she doesnt understand how important it is for me to go to madness..
been doing alot of work to my car... ordered a set of 12 inch tires from ebay.
not my choice, but my rims didnt work... been taking tons of pix of my work on my car,
so, because im not too good at comps, would anyone be willing to help me post my work? btw, i will be heading out of birmingham al, early fri morning around 3am...

How late does Festiva Madness usually last on Saturdays?

"Officially", the meet is over Saturday afternoon. Off the record... people always end up hanging out "somewhere" until they decide it's time to go home / hotel / bar / etc!

We discussed a multi-day event. Lots of folks have stated plainly they are on very tight budgets. I worried that advertising a multi-day meet might discourage people from showing up. Since this is only the 3rd year, and while planning this year's meet we really didn't have a feel for how many people might show, we decided to budget the time kinda conservatively.

Let's see what sort of turnout we have, and that should help determine the duration of any future events. Matter of fact, after this year's meet has concluded, we'd really like to hear from everyone regarding:

a. what did you like
b. what didn't you like
c. what you'd do differently
d. any other suggestions (i.e., activities, cruise-out, blah blah blah)

After the meet, we will have some mechanism to accomplish that.

2007 = 1st Madness = 7 cars
2008 = 2nd Madness = 23 cars
2009 = 3rd Madness = 40+ cars ?????

This is YOUR meet and it's Less Than Two Weeks Away! Make it all that you want it to be. Don't forget to bring your cameras and a couple of folding chairs!

This Festiva Madness will cover 3 to 4 days

How late does Festiva Madness usually last on Saturdays? Will it last til Sunday morning? Just checking because if so, me and the wifey will get a hotel in Raleigh. In addition, if I get there at 9 or 930, is that gonna be too early?

Some Festiva folks will be in town Thursday night and some are coming in Friday morning and later Friday.

For the ones already here Friday early, plans are to hit a couple junk yards search for parts.

Friday night the Festiva owners in town will be invited over to the house.

We may do a small Festiva convoy out for dinner or can hang at the house, order pizza or other food.

Talk Festivas, work on cars if needed. play with Greg's race car set up?

Watch Festiva meet videos from the last 4 meets I have attended.


Will also have the sign plotter set up so anyone that would like can make some

custom name decals for your Festiva or Aspire. Racing numbers what ever.

Some folks are staying in motels, my daughter and her husband's place, Sam.1956's place and here at the house.

A couple more local Festiva Madness members may have room if needed?

I would say everyone will be hanging out here Friday night till 11:30 and then some will head out to some local members homes for the night.

Saturday morning I plan to be up by 6:30am for breakfast and maybe a very early Junk yard hunt and get back to the meet location by 10:30

This will have to be a very fast junk yard run.

I may not be able to go on the run because I have to get everything set up.

Maybe Sam.1956 will be able to lead a group out yard searching.

Nate and John went out last year to a local junk yard and found some good parts.

Event t-shirts will be handed out over at the meet.

At 2pm, the plan is to line all the cars up for a Festiva/Aspire convoy.

There will be one or two people doing video along with pictures. Would be great if more folks will take some video.

A few local members have talked to TV stations in the area.

With any luck, the meet will make the local news?

Will convoy over to the house for a Strip-a-Festiva like last year.

It is free and we will draw names for parts to be removed.

I will have some parts there to trade or sell. Please bring any items that you would like to sell or trade.

The meet at the house should be over by 6-6:30.

At that time we can convoy out again for dinner.

After dinner we can play it by ear. May meet back at the house or meet at another Madness members home for a couple hours.

By 11:00 we should all be headed back to where we will stay for the night.

Sam is correct that Festiva Madness is officially a one day event.

There are a large number of folks that will travel many hours and miles.

I have e-mails from folks that have plans to be in the Raleigh area for 3 to 4 nights.

Just wanted to be sure that you have the options to meet up with others that are already here.

Yes we have floor space. Bring a sleeping bag or what will work for you.

When the Madness crew went up to Ohio. We stayed at Johns and the floor space was just fine.

Less than two weeks away

3rd Annual Festiva Madness Meet will be October 3rd in Raleigh, NC

All Ford Festiva and Aspire owners join us for an afternoon of car talk with other Festiva /Aspire lovers.

21 Festivas and 2 Aspires were at the 2008 meet. I have been receiving e-mails and phones calls weekly about this get together and at this time, the numbers could be 30 to 35 cars at this year’s event.

The plan is to meet between 10:30 and 2:00 at the Poyner Place Shopping Center behind Triangle Town Center Mall to eat and talk and check out each others' rides for the afternoon. There are several food places there, Shane’s Rib Shack, Dominic’s NY Pizzeria, Bake House Bistro, and Cold Stone Creamery.

For mapping purposes, use 5811 Poyner Village Parkway, Raleigh, NC 27616. The location is ½ mile south of I-540 at exit 17 Triangle Town Blvd. When you get off the exit, you can only go south. Go through the stop light then turn left into the shopping center and make the first right onto Poyner Village Parkway to the end.

In the unlikely event of rain, we have permission to use the (never used) parking deck on the other side of the restaurants, so don’t let the threat of rain keep you away.

Bring camp chairs for seating near the cars please. If your “significant other” doesn’t want to spend the afternoon talking cars, bring them along and let them go shopping! Between the shopping center and the mall, there are tons of shops.

The food places are in two buildings on the right on either side of a pond. Shane’s has a large indoor seating area and there is plenty of outside seating for eating near the water. We are proposing Shane’s for lunch, but the other options are there for those who don’t like ribs or BBQ. Who doesn’t like ribs? And you can head next door for ice cream for dessert if you have room! For all who drive their Festiva or Aspire to the meet, there will be free event t-shirts. If you are planning to come, please email me with your t-shirt size so I can be sure to have enough shirts made up.

If you have parts to sell or swap, bring them along! And bring pictures. Door prizes are still in the planning stages.

At 2:00 pm by invite only (this location will not be posted on the web) Festiva/Aspire owners with their cars will convoy about two miles over to our home for a swap meet. And, there will be a parts car at this location for a free Pick-A-Part.

Some Festiva owners are arriving Thursday and Friday before the meet. We will be heading out those two days to local junk yards searching parts. Let me know if you are interested.

Friday evening several of us will convoy out for dinner. Maybe, like last year, it will be at a member’s restaurant. I will post on that as soon as it is locked down.

Sunday plans are to have a post-meet for anyone that wants to do a breakfast buffet and/or go junkyarding before heading home.

I used to be a member years ago but kinda let it go by the wayside. Feistyfesty is a friend of mine and with his invitation I will be at FM3. I have a '93 w/ a BP swap. It's not in great shape or anything but it gets me to work. It ran like a sexually assaulted primate when I first installed it - but I haven't done much with it or anything since. So I'll see you guys there. By the way I'm from New Bern, NC.
