skeeter and I got back around 3:30am but it was a success. Driving over the mountains was actually not as bad as I thought it'd be with 500+ extra pounds in the car. Usually using 3rd or 4th gear going up and coasting down I still got 38 mpg from about 10 minutes before the park to harrisonburg, VA. OOH!! gas there was 2.29!!

Kemp - Yeah, you need a hela-coil... Did one on Pimptiva #2 after one of the holes got stripped when I installed new plugs and wires. As Brian said, they sell a complete kit to do it, with spares, at normal auto stores.

Kemp they make a tool to fix that right on the car. It's an easy fix, I have done it before. Napa sells the tap (no drilling required) and the inserts, it's about $30 for all of it.

To add to the bad luck on the way home I have a new one. Blowing the spark plug outta the hole & stripping it in the process. It was alicia's turn to drive. I zonked out about south bend Indiana. She woke me up saying sorry I broke your car.... I was still groggy so I said if it will make it 2 miles to the rest area got there as it has better light than a cell phone. Popped the hood & see a spark plug dangling there on the wire.

Oh good an easy fix for once. Got the plug socket tightened it up, closed the hood, started it up, POP.

So I drove it home as a 3cyl festy for about 75+ very noisy miles.
Looks like I need to do a head swap later today so I can make it to my first day of work Wednesday.

made it home, barely... 323 started running (really) hot just after passing "Bad-luck Breezewood". I've had more car trouble there than I care to recount....

I don't think I did any damage, but I'll be investigating the issue tomorrow.

Other than that, had a great time! This post is coming to you via the "new-to-me" laptop purchased from Simon. This thing is awesome compared to my old one!!! I can actually read all the keys, and everything works!

Made it over to wakeman and delivered my B3 to hofficergrover. Now I'm at a comfort inn in Columbus. Going to the zoo tomorrow to get poo flung at me by our fellow primates.

Just got home here too. Took the "extended route", in which MapQuest sent me on some crazy back roads (which included a lovely dirt farm road)... Got it all sorted out and headed for the most direct way home after that.

Found the most ancient gas pump that is probably still functional at this little campground food mart.

I told him if he could take their minivan to summit I'd take him to moraine and back, but were not heading back to Toledo after. He can't take the minivan though. Unfortunately its the fact that nobody's going back west after the meet : (
