I posted this in another thread, but we should address the large number of convoy cars which leave to go to Barbara's house after the meet. I propose that those who arrive early should pick some "designated convoy leaders" and we split up into smaller groups to make the convoy drive. We can all leave at once, but there would be no problem getting separated on the way, since there would be at least five or six folks who know the way, and practiced it the day before.
I say this having witnessed the "red light fiasco" at the light just off the freeway at Barbara's exit. We need to make sure no accidents happen that could create negative publicity and perhaps open up lawsuits, etc.

Have it at my house! We can spread a swap meet through my backyard! I could probably talk the neighbors into letting me use the field behind me for camping.
Just Kidding, yall did a great job on FM4!

It may still be at the same location. We are hoping the property owner won't mind if people exchange/sale parts there too. We will have to get advanced approval for this though.
We had also talked about having the meet at a camping place so everyone could camp out and hang out for the weekend. But most places require a rental fee and that's not something everyone can afford.
It was Dean's thinking that if you took the time to drive all the way out to Raleigh and join the fun, then we try to keep costs to everyone at a minimum. (That's why he gave free shirts to drivers of Festivas and Aspires.)
There are many ideas still floating around. So keep 'em coming! I know there is an FM5 thread going on, but I'm hoping those comments and ideas will start being posted here.Last edited by Britstiva; 01-17-2011, 07:02 PM.

If we use the same location we have used for the past two years... then yes. There is a parking garage in the same location where we host the meet. Check the link that PU241 posted above.Originally posted by angrygocart View PostIs there anyplace nearby that's covered such as a parking garage in case of heavy rain?

Should be a fun drive... its 2914 miles and approxametly 48 hours of driving one way lol should be a good test for the swap when its done! That's 700$ in gas at 30mpg lol this is gunna be a 1500$ trip!

I'm hoping to attend this year if finances lean to the black a little more... I'll probably be living in Baltimore by then, so I'd probably take 2 days to get there. (Visit parents on the way through)

Certainly interested but where are these events usually held? I'm not retired or unemployed yet so a weekend jaunt would have to be relatively close to eastern Ontario, Canada, for me to 'aspire' to attend.
