Westiva 2012

... it's never too early to start planning!

I know it's only January but I thought I would post the dates and location for Westiva 2012.

When: Saturday July 14th, 2012
Where: Wedge Pond, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada (about a one hour drive from Calgary's western city limits).
What: Meet and greet at the pond in the morning. After a picnic lunch we'll take an afternoon cruise to grab an ice cream cone at Boulton Creek Store and then on to the Upper Kananaskis Lake.

Campgrounds in the area fill up fast so I would recommend making reservations.

Mount Kidd (http://www.mountkiddrv.com/) is the closest, and nicest, but there are a couple of other options that aren't too far away.

These are only about a 30-40 minute drive at most from Wedge Pond.

As for hotels the closest are located in Kananaskis Village, not far from Wedge Pond.

Lets see if we can make it to 20 cars this year! We had 4 Festivas in '08, 5 in '09, 10 in '10 and 5 in '11!

This is the fifth year at this beautiful location. The date happens to be the last Saturday of the Calgary Stampede so you could come early and take in the 100th anniversary edition of the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"!

So mark your calendars!

Here's another event in the Calgary area for those considering attending Westiva 2012.

The Canadian Badlands Passion Play is held on July 13-15 and 20-22.

I had a dream last night that Mike(sasquatch), Tim(timmay89), Aaron(aaronbrook37), and myself were convoying to Westiva. It was accually quite boring. Nothing special happened, just felt like about 4 hours of driving.

I'm in again no matter what... Whether I trailer her down there or get to drive her I will be there... Once again I am trying to persuade my dad to make the journey from the island as well...I just have about a million things I need to do to my car before July... lol..

I think it'd be cool to make the drive for this meet, but definitely not this year lol

Like I usually do i'm going to Radium Hot Springs after the meet for the night. If the weather is cool the hot pools are nice, but there is a cold pool as well if it is hot. All are welcome to join.

Westiva is getting closer!! Reservations can be made at Mount Kidd RV Park 90 days in advance. That puts the first day to reserve there in the middle of April, which is only a month away!

Let's get at least 20 Festivas and Aspires to the pond this year
