What date would you head that direction? My wife said I could go. She would like to but not sure how that'll happen with the oldest starting school. Defiantly going do something with the front end.. after 16 hours I just might lose my marbles!

When can hash out the details when it gets closer, but I would be down for leaving sometime Thursday if everyone else could. If not Friday would be fine. I'd like to at least leave Early Friday. It's a 14 hour drive from Rolla. So a little over 12 from STL. I could always head to STL myself Thursday night and then we could all leave from there in the morning Friday.

I just sent out this email through festivamadness@gmail. However, I realize that not all of you contact us through our email, so I'm posting this here too:

        Hello Festiva friends,

To those who were able to attend FM6, please give us some feedback on how to improve the meet. Here is a short list of things I'd like to get feedback on:

        •Location
        •Plaques vs trophies
        •Ways to improve
        •Suggestions for FM7

Any feedback you would like to include is welcomed!

In the meantime, I hope you all are doing well and we look forward to hearing from you!

        Festiva Madness Planning Committee

Let's face it... the meet happens because all of you take the time to meet up and hang out! (And we SOOO appreciate you taking the time and energy to be there!) What can we do to improve the meet?

Haha I didn't think I was on the madness mailing list but I got the email

            1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
            1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

For awards I think we should add most improved.

Did you know that we usually award "Best Beater" and "Fan Favorite"? The guy who won it this year was best beater last year.

BUt that's a good point! Our categories are:

                    Drove furthest to Madness
Bad Luck award: (broke down, wrecked on the way, etc... but still made it to the meet!)
                    Highest mileage
                    Lowest mileage
                    Best Beater
                    Fan Favorite

Am I missing one?? What category would you like to see added/removed?

the most improved necessariley doesn't have to win fan favorite or best beater or come from best beater but look way better than last years meet. i mean i seen some beaters out there that they probably have put a lot of work into to making it better and maybe won't win fan favorite but has a high chance to win most improved. i mean last year if we had it mike would have got 2 awards in example.

                        Through email, I've received:

*A bit more organization: I have to admit... for me personally, FM6 arrived way too fast and I felt completely overwhelmed and underprepared. Also, we were finalizing a longer list the week of the meet this year. Where as before, we had more things finalized sooner.

*More emphasis on bringing chairs to the meet

Location: What did you all think about the location for FM6??

I think the parking lot last year (FM6) was too small, the cars were spread out over two parking lots. IMO

Yeah, I liked the store being there, but the lot just didn't hold enough... We talked about moving it to the corner lot of the same shopping center... and just parking them in there to fit. But I think one of the best things about our previous location was people driving through and looking. I missed that this past year.

I heard from some people who parked outside the lot that they felt left out of the show. So I'd like to find a remedy for that this year.

The key to having a successful meet each year is consistency. So, we always have it on the first Saturday of October. Before Dean passed away, we had discussed moving the meet to a campground area. (Like the Spring FestivaL does in Anderson, SC.) But the problem with that is there isn't a good camping area near by (such as KOA). And you couldn't work on the cars like we do at Barb's.

If the lot owner and Oreilly's says OK, I say we just move over a little bit to the pretty much empty space behind the Oreilly's store.
                                Don't forget the beer.
