Figure out how to fix or replace one of the vacuum canisters on the carb, I think its for the AC fast idle. The vacuum line running to the side of it snapped off.

I may have one laying around here, let me know! I could give you a GREAT price on it

a seal is a 20 min job, a trans is a 2-3 hour job (depending on what's being done once the trans is out.)

I think just replacing the seal will not stop the leak. When I grap the axel at the trans, on the leaking side, it has movement, like a loose feel movement. The left side has a solid/tight movement. Could that mean its internal in the trans or just a bad seal?

hey muleskinner, check that MTF fluid (even though it is actually ATF)by removing the big speedo cable nut and the 10mm bolt under it, then remove the gear housing assembly in a twisting motion.....this gear housing is your dipstick, even has a min and max mark, remove the rubber o-ring for a easier time going in and out, checking it. hope you make it to the show ok!
And also i'll 2nd FestYboy's comments, with one BIG exception, 2-3 hours in and out IF the stupid snap-in axles come out OK on the first or second try!!!!

Sounds about right, one of my Madness projects last year was a clutch, took a little longer than normal, being sociable and all Took about four hours, maybe five, IIRC?

Ummm, I am bringing food for Friday night, we all go out to eat Saturday, according to Smedley. I am on Atkins, no beer, but a bottle of Johnny Walker might do...

Ya I know, I just don't trust my Festiva yet for that far of a drive, I know I could have took the protege but then I'd wish my festiva was there, plus I've been really really wanting to finally get my hands on my parts so that's first on my list lol

I don't plan on tampering with my festiva too much before next year so I should fully trust it by then and I'll be sure to make it down

Last year, I had peeps begging me to come down, and I couldnt make it. Were trying to get 100 to show up. Now it is half that amount, I am going this year and so many peeps I wanted to meet are not coming this year! Sux!
