Haha if I knew my car could make it that far but I'm sure I'll go through a tranny or two if I went (BP stock tranny and 29" tires don't mix) I'll be going to a meet that's closer to Pensacola FL

Due to new job/new house this is touch and go. If no one else at work books the time I might be able to pull it off. My overall drive is about 12-15 hrs longer now.

Here are some details for this year's edition of Westiva. You may remember that we cancelled last year due to severe flooding in the area. That's given us all an extra year to be working on our cars. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the "regulars" and also some newcomers.
For this year's event my wife and I, well mostly my wife, will be providing a picnic lunch for those in attendance. I'll be starting a "who's coming" thread a little later so we have an idea on numbers. I will also be working on getting some prizes and give-aways for the day too. There will definitely be a "Long Distance" award if nothing else.
When: Saturday July 12th, 2014
Where: Wedge Pond, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada (about a one hour drive from Calgary's western city limits).
What: Meet and greet at the pond in the morning. After our picnic lunch we'll take an afternoon cruise to grab an ice cream cone at Boulton Creek Store. This is 40km (25 mile) drive mostly along Highway 40.
Campgrounds in the area fill up fast so I would recommend making reservations.
Mount Kidd (http://www.mountkiddrv.com/) is the closest, and nicest, but there are a couple of other options that aren't too far away.
These are only about a 30-40 minute drive at most from Wedge Pond.
As for hotels the closest are located in Kananaskis Village, not far from Wedge Pond.
Lets see if we can make it back into double digits this year! We had 4 Festivas in '08, 5 in '09, 10 in '10, 5 in '11 and 4 Festivas and a Subaru Vivio in 2012, our last event!
2012's Festivas
This is the sixth year at this beautiful location. The date happens to be the last Saturday of the Calgary Stampede so you could come early and take in the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"!

We are running a road race at Castrol Raceway the weekend unfortunately, otherwise I would have loved to bring Thricetiva down as a trailer queen to show off the new build, and meet the other westi festi's. Have a great time!

To bad you weren't running the race on sunday, There might have been a few festys that would have come and ran the road course up there. I would love to get my car on the track and put it through the paces, And the wifes Dart just for comparison.

Oh and I am booked into loop f, site 18 if anyone wants to visit lol...
Howdy neighbour! I got F19 for Friday and Saturday night. There's still 2 dozen sites left in F but I can't see that lasting much longer. Also thanks to my winter part-time stint as a pre-owned hydrocarbon salesman I have access to a *lot* of high-grade firewood so barring any fire bans (and Sportage cargo space permitting- though I may be able to wrangle a small trailer) we'll have no shortage of combustibles.
Never been to Kidd, how is it?
