I've had 6.5's in my doors since it was new.
I now have 6.5 Kickers in the doors along with a Punch 10" sub "(in the back).

so its made for 6.5's, you dont have to do anything to make them fit, just the speaker and 3 screws?

The best thing would be for you to remove the door panel and take a look at what fits. When I put mine on the door there was no way they would fit without spacers. I ended using 1" spacers over the mounting location. There is almost no clearance for the window, so you would also need to use shallow speakers if you don't use spacers. I ended using 3 way components in the front and they sound great.

Whatever speakers you choose, take a look at websites that will give you some dimensions on the speaker. Crutchfield has door speakers <-Click, but even they'll tell you you have to mod the door. That may be your best bet.

The speakers in the link are Infinity Reference with a directional tweeter to help increase soundstage. I'll be installing 4 of the 4" in mine, only because I don't want to hack the door.

I did have to cut the hole larger for the original 6.5" speakers I installed.
The magnet were too big for the holes if I remember correctly. (been a long time ago)
And yes in case you were wondering, the window handle does slightly hit the edge of the speaker grill on the Kickers.
