  • Kinda how to for 6.5''s all around the Festy(56k=no chance)

I picked up the Pioneer combo for $100 at Best Buy Friday, and proceeded to install in my festiva. I just traced a circle for the rear speakers on the rear decks and went at it with a dremel. For the front I originally did the same thing, but the window cranks were hitting my speaker grills. I then cut the hole the size of the speaker grill diameter, and mounted the speakers right to the door(metal). You might not be able to do this with deeper speakers because I have about 1cm of clearance with the glass and the speaker when the window is down. My car did not have previous door wiring so it took a long time to run the wires to the speaker. Hope you guys understand what I did. Hit me up with any questions.

Here is a vid with an explanation.

The left door panel cut out is messy but it is hard to tell when you're in the car. The right panel cut out is a lot cleaner because it was my second time.

Can you guys see my vid, or do you have to log in?

Also, my car is an 88-89 model so the rear seat has lap belts. I am not sure how the 90-93 would work because the belt goes through the speaker tray.

It may seem like I cut away all the stability from the rear speaker decks but they are still stable.

really nice man, this is EXACTLY what i needed.

whats the diameters of the speakers???

is is gonna be more difficult to add components 6.5, ? b/c of the tweeters and crossovers?

When i did mine speakers in the doors the window cranks where hiting too but i didnt want to recess the speakers as to avoid visible cuts in the doors. The fix. I took the handles off and heated em in the oven slightly and gave them a gentle bend out. Worked perfect. no rub. no white plastic bend marks and it looked stock.

Must have been a tight fit........

I am going to buy my subwoofer tomorrow night. It is a rebranded version of the PowerAcoustik Fubar. Bestbuy just changed the color and stuck the insignia name on it. 12'', 600watts rms (I'll run about 450-500rms to it), and I am putting it in a ported enclosure(2.0cuft tuned to 40hz).

I might post pics in this thread or I'll just start a whole new one.

cool i just finished a ported box to fit in my festiva and OH MY FREAKIN GOD does it pound HARD. i made it to house a 12" 400 watt Quantum Q-Series subwoofer. wired it up to a 400 watt power acoustik amp and a 2000 watt boss capacitor. i have a pioneer stereo running everything and all the factory speakers have been replaced with memphis street edge speakers
it may not be fast but ill pass u when u run out of gas

I just picked the Insignia woofer on ebay today for $20+$20 shipping!!!! Brand NEW!!!

It will go in the Integra first because I have a nice head unit to use it with, and because it is my daily driver. I throw some pics up of the box after I build it.(might build one friday if I can find the time) 2.0cuft at 40hz like I said before, with an angle so it meets up with the back seat of both the teg and the festiva(same angle). I am pumped!!!

Still need to buy an amp and wiring kit though(should order them soon)

                          VIVA EBAY!!!
