you could probably use carpet too but of a different (darker) shade.

or paint it in the same color as the car.

Here's a couple pics of my install... not too terribly beautiful yet, but its by far the cleanest install I've ever done thus far. I used to just have a big black box with two subs and a 1200watt amp that I would just drop into whatever car I happened to have. It had been in two ford taurus wagons, a chevy van, and the little blue during the course of its life. All thats changed now though, because I actually installed it in a custom built enclosure in the back. Don't hate on me too bad for the audiobahn/sony mix, its just what I had to work with... oh yeah, and I only worked on it for one afternoon, so it still got a little ways to go. I know I'm gonna carpet the top of the rear shelf with gray to match the ineterior, but any suggestions for how to finish out the undersize (inside the hatch) would be great. Thanks! Here's pics:

And at night with the blue neons

now i know mine is nowhere near as extreme as xpnsyd's, but it is pretty loud, sorry but this is the only pic i got right now

it's a pair of 15 inch solo barics L5's with a memphis 1000watt amp, so far i've hit 143db with it, but i need a bigger amp, alternator, to power them properly, and after meeting with ThaWeezord, i got some other ideas for a different box to help as well

well, now even the pics at the top are old...here are my pics of the new system..should have posted this here..

ok I was rushing for FF '06 and so everything isn't real pretty. But it all works. there are a few rough spots and a few things I have to re-align etc.. I still have lots of cosmetics to do and wire hiding. There is really too many features to list at this point, but ask away if you want to know what something is..

Notice how we widened the center of the dash and relocated the fan switch to the cigarette lighter hole and robbed another corner section from another dash for the cigarette lighter..

I will most likely have it covered professionally by a local upholsterer.. but that costs $ and most of my extra cash went into the system..

The flash on my camera stopped working so some of the pics are dark or blurry.. I'll get better pics once I have everything finished..

2 12" Infinity References and a 1000w Profile amp. Good enough to roll down the windows. The 5.25" are dB Drives speed series, i'm adding two middle speakers powered by a 2x40 amp for a total of 6 speakers in a couple of weeks.

yep did the back door,.. floor and rear door panels.. still need to do the roof though. It rattles like crazy.. goes up and down for like 3 inches or something when the rear doors are open. really noisy.
