I didn't go anywhere near the thickness you have, and the weight was way too much for the rear springs.. what do you plan to do about the rear suspension? On mine every little bump made the tires scrape.. And that was with the taller Aspire struts and springs.. also with the stock B3 engine a steep hill was embarassing... I have since removed mine did the B6 swap and am going with fiberglas.

i use spring raisers and they are used for all manner of loading weight in cars/vans. they work very well indeed, never ever had the tyres scuff. the rear hasn't really gone down that much at all, which is nice

i'm not in this for the performance/speed, if i was i wouldn't be driving this, now would i?
but i am surprised at how well the car can still pull in 1st and 2nd

but it does run out of puff in 4th and 5th

sorry, i've been away on honeymoon then my internet connection has been down for over a month!!!!!!!!!

          as for the install.........

i've dropped the subs in and it looks well nice and have run the sub cable through the side of the wall, so it'll be close to were the amps will be mounted.

i've soldered the terminals on the runs of power cable under the bonnet.

i'm STILL waiting for the masses of sound deadening to arrive.

and i'm STILL waiting for a friend to return my amps. until i get them i'm stuck.

i'll post an update as soon as the beast is fired up.

              nothings up, that's what.

with 3 amps the system should be pushing 8000wrms, each amp running at .5 Ohm.

but until i get my hands on them................

I'm keeping mine @ 2 Ohms.. but I'm still working on the rear box.. I still want to see out my rear glass, so I've had to get creative.. I will be unveiling it at FF '06. Some of the cosmetics may not be complete, but by then it will be up and running..

well, i've got the first amp tonight and the other 2 will be brought down to me next week. i can't wait!!! it's been months and months. all because i lent them to a mate to compete in Europe last September.

i'll take some pics soon as i'll be on holiday in 2 weeks so i can get them fitted in and then start to test. the subs are Duel 1Ohm so i could get 3 more amps and strap them in pairs to really make some noise! but as my wife is now up the duff i think i'll have to stop spending on the audio side  .

at least things are moving in the right direction, at last.

first, thanks for all the interest and comments

the other amps should be with me in a couple of days but i've made a start.

i put on the front terminals on the battery today.

using my ratchet and short extension i promptly earthed the handle on the wing (gouge in upper right) quickly followed with a small brown package in my trousers
it was a bit fiddly to say the least, but they're on now.

i've crimped on the rear terminals then soldered 'em.

rear battery sorted and both batteries linked up.

first amp screwed in and a spacer on top and ready for more
