    ok Forget the summerlift..

I used a driver's xr-2 power window lift. It was exactly the height I needed to raise and lower the lcd monitor. Now I need a DPCO momentary switch and a couple of NC micro swirches for limits..

I actually had it raising and lowering the monitor tonight.. still have to weld the monitor bracket to the window lift and attach some guide tracks.. wire it all up and it'll be pretty much done.. pics soon..

      Sounds wicked !!!
I wonder how a proximity switch would work for the limiting on height and when lowered.

ok still lots to do, but the monitor is in and working perfectly..

I would have used a larger monitor, but they're over 200.00 and I didn't find any with the flat edges I needed to mount the guide rails..

These motors must have built in proximity switches... I didn't realize it at first but if you continue to hold the button down while it's bottomed out up or down, the motor shuts off. cool.. has anyone checked the passive restraint systems to see if they're the same way? I could probably come up with some good uses for those.

well, guys I've decided that it will be done with mdf and fiberglas.

I wanted to buy some speaker rings, but the only ones I could find were at Selectproducts.com. 27+ for 1 set of 12" rings.. screw that!! I went looking around for a circle jig and hit paydirt. A company called Jasper Tools makes a few different vesions that can make perfect routed circles from 1"- 53". Best of all they are here in Houston.. I bought the 2 1/4" -18 3/16" for 40.00.. It came with the screws to connect it to your router.. a little spendy, but pretty nice.

All the DIY jigs I've made before were always a little off, or would get that way after a few holes..
