        So what is it?... 9.4 or 9.7:1?? I have a haynes manual, and for some reason I can't find the CR anywhere in there.

        -"Hairlipstiva" 1991 GL 5spd (swapped from an auto), rolling on Enkei 14x6 +38 with 195/45/14 Toyo's, Jensen MP5720 CD deck, tach install, LED strip in cluster, down position rear wiper, FMS springs, Gabriel shocks on 4 corners, Acura Integra short shifter
        -Escort GT 91 donor car with BP, G5M-R tranny to be dropped in the little guy...

          Im looking at a Chilton's and it says from 88-92 the compression on all 1.3 is 9.7:1.
          88-89 "K" HP = 58@5000rpm and Torque = 73@3500rpm
          89-92 "H" HP = 63@5000rpm and Torque = 73@3000rpm

                    i just got my bp head decked 20 thou and my compression is in between 13.5 and 11.2 bar. it is good, i am so happy it is finaly getting good compression

                      11.2 bar? hmm wrong units i think. 1 bar = 14.7 psi ...13.5:1 CR? wow thats pretty high.

                        I meant to ask, increasing to 10:1 or a hair more, would I need different spark plugs?

                          why exactly did the 89 increase to 63 hp? they were still carbed, werent they?

                            i think when you get past 11:1 then you need to get high octane fuel and to get all the power possable get some GOOD spark plugs like those 4 tip ones (i cant remember what they are called) and plug wires too

                              '89 Auto trans EFI were rated at 63hp. M/T carbed cas were still 58hp.

                                4 tiped plugs are absolute CRAP. plugs have nothing to do with CR requirements.
