  • Manual To Automatic Swap?

Hi everyone sorry if this has been covered before but, could someone list all the parts you need to do a manual to auto swap? And is it hard to do?
It would be for a 1990 5 spd Festiva.
-93' L BP swap/e-series, coilovers, RIO front swap, redrilled festy drums, Miata 14" 7 spokes.
-88' Mazda 323 SE, work in progress..
    -85' Nissan Sentra 5 spd.

festivawes would probably do the swap if you gave him the 5 speed. He's that nice.

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

After searching "manual to automatic" I found this really good topic.

Post your Festiva or Aspire repair and maintenance issues. - USE THIS FORUM FOR ANY TECHNICAL RELATED POST (IE. How do I change my oil?, How to remove axle from tranny?, etc)

There are a couple other topics out there also, but they are a little harder to find. Switching from manual to automatic or vice-versa is never an easy swap. Some engine swaps are easier. Not saying it is impossible, but that there is a lot involved and our cars are simpler than most.

Don't mean to get off topic, but this is your best bet! Buy the stick telling your parents that you will swap it out for the auto... Then dont... lol

While searching the junkyards for auto transaxles...

"No, that auto is too dirty for me!"

"No, that auto is the wrong color!"

              "No, that auto smells funny!"

"Well, at least my 5 speed is running well and getting me over 45 mpg. Too bad you don't feel like learning to drive it!"

              Etc.

If you do decide to do the swap, I think I could help out, I have a peds and shifter assym, I also still have the busted trans and coverter if you need any switches or odds and ends, be willing to give them to ya for a small donation to the site.

I will trade you all my automatic parts for all your manual parts. You just have to pay the shipping.

                    PM me if interested.

^^ how much you want for the complete auto trans swap?? I'm needing to turn one of mine into a slushbox.....

I could help out with the swap if needed though kingfish is way closer.

If you have a complete manual swap (including axles) I wouldn't want anything, unless its needs a clutch then I may need alittle cash.

seeing as we are talking swaps , do the Aspire pedals bolt in, to a Festiva?? (auto to std)
Aspires and Sways all around, Miata B6 installed, KYB G2Rs just installed in front. Wish for coil overs someday.

I talked my parents into letting me get a manual, since I'm already having a really hard time finding a festiva to buy.

                              Interesting.

I'm looking to swap my Auto into a 5 speed manual...

                              How hard would this be?
