Hey guys, I just wanted to point these out to you. I bought two of these a couple years ago, and really like the Hurst short throw shifters. They are really strong compared to some of the other short throw shifters out there on ebay.

^ its still not a short throw shifter. You have to move the pivot ball up in order to achieve a shorter gears changes.---------------------------------------------------

yeah there not to bad. The only hard part is getting the spring back into the shifter housing on the top side where the shift boot would go.---------------------------------------------------

Yes it is a pretty easy mod and its for the manual transmission. With the Hurst shifters, you cut all of the spring except for the top coil, and you are basically left with just a retaining ring. I've done two of these in my festiva, and my wifes. The first time I kept on cutting the spring little by little, struggling to get it to fit. I finally got down to just the top coil and it went in Nice and snug.Originally posted by Epixstar View Postis this for a stock manuel trans is it a easy mod?

I bought and installed one of these about a month ago....like Joe said, very easy mod -- your gonna need to cut the spring WAY down, I was nervous about it too, but its the only way to make it fit. It decreased the throw, but not as much as I hoped. It also seemed to make the "top gears" (1st and 3rd) closer to the dash than before....but it doesnt bother me enough to look into changing it. Its definitly quality compared to the standard eBay, made in china crap.

Last time I looked on ebay for the Hurst shifter I couldn't find it. Are they still available on ebay or do I have to look elsewhere? Any ideas where to find them wrestler?"Lane, I've been going to this high school for seven and a half years. I'm no dummy."
