  • C.V. axel pulls out :(

    hi everyone,

okay so after a week of hard work swaping in a b8 sohc with a f series trans (hydro clutch) into "Truckstiva" got it all together today and.....my passenger side cv keeps pulling out for some reason. I cant seem to figure out why so I've come to you for help. Has anyone had this problem if so what did you have to do to fix it.. BTW I put in cv's from a 1989 tracer.

    Thanks in advance -Daniel

once it snaps in place I cannot pull it back out ....I put it on jackstands and turned the wheels both ways and it was fine...then I started it 1st was ok shifted to 2nd and it pulled out ...

you needed to use the Festy ones I believe. The Aspire ones push the strut further out and you get axles that pop out.

good call Willie!, the Aspire LCAs are 3/4" longer than the festy LCAs. the only use i've found for them are when doing a Capri brake swap.

Couldn't he just use the Aspire CV's?
But I still wonder about getting the alignment correct though.

                              ^^^ Might be right!
I don't know the difference between the '89 tracer/323 axles and festiva and aspire axles.
May well be spline count differences as well as length of axles.
Know the Aspire axles are longer than Festiva axles.
                              Anyone have more data?
