Went out and measured the air filters for Aspire and Festiva EFI (they are the same BTW). Went to the K&N site, which lets you search by size to find a match. Turns out there is no K&N filter to replace the stock EFI filter. The K&N filter part # I have seen quoted here before must be for the carbed Festys.
Tom you need to search for a 1993 Kia Pride 1.3 and it will pull up the correct PN PN #33-2222

What I did was plug in the part #; it took me to the web page in your post above. From there I just clicked on "33-2222 Vehicle Applications" to get the page in my post #15. This filter is for both Festys and Aspires BTW; I pulled the ones from my stock Festiva and Aspire to compare and make sure they were the same.
Went to Advance Auto to buy the K&N. Gave the guy the part #, he looked it up, sez it will be here in six days (must be coming from K&N; it might not be used on any other car in the US). Then he sez, "That'll be $48.16 please." Words were exchanged, a brief fistfight broke out, and I ran out of the store*. That's more than I want to spend on a filter, esp. since I will be turboing one of the cars that would use it, and poss. selling the other.
* Some embellishment may have occurred here.

That sounds about right. I paid around $46 for mine several years ago. I think I paid around $40 for the K&N in my '97 F250 and the '02 DOHC Taurus I had. Look at the bright side, it will come with a cool K&N sticker for the back window.
With the airbox opened up, the difference between the stock filter and a K&N on such a small motor is probably negligible; maybe 1 to 2 HP. I'd love to see a dyno comparison on pre- and post-mod, and post-mod w/K&N.
put a k&n in the wifes hyundai accent got 4 more mpg's when u go on a 3000 mile trip thats a big improvement but didnt notice any hp improvement
but also have one in the wifes 73 pinto 2.0 and no dyno but felt like 20 hp improvement but we dont track the mpg's on our pintos no point as we just dont care we drive those for fun not just to get place's
yes i know this is a old thread but just adding my experience with K&N
i also know there is some other brands up and coming that are as good if not better than K&N for cheaper but they have been worth the money to me so far
did my version of an air box mod today i was at my local auto wrecking place and about the only thing left on the festiva was the parts i was looking for air box, connecting tube (mine had a bad crack) and ashtray (car didnt come with one) all for 9$
so i took a 2.5" hole saw on a drill an made a little hole in the location of the original tube after it was cut off
i did notice a bit improvement in performance i liked
but it made it much louder intake and exhaust sounds, this i dont like
That looks awesome... that's exactly what I want to do, and then jam some sort of feed pipe into the hole fed from the grill or bumper.
dont know if it would make any better than what did unless u have done other mods to the engine. how ever it may be quitter
im in my car 100$ after full tune up,a can of sea foam, oil change, used tunes i had around and 2 trips to the wrecking yard so i dont care if its a little louder than stock

In the research I've done, it actually does more often than not. The most efficient ram-intake systems, especially in drag cars, can actually generate a small amount of boost at high speed (0.2psi). The only downside is that it dirties the filter faster, but that's no big deal. The articles on intake flow and restriction are all over the Australian-based AutoSPEED website if you're interested in reading about them.

dont think i can get my stock festiva up to 80 mph so.... but working on thing is always good, you'll learn more buy doing than talking. so i say go for it
Old thread but did you guys also cut the screen out of the MAF? I think I took a sharp knife to the two I had. It seemed to help just as much as cutting the box. There's also the EGR block off plate. On my first aspire I went as far as building a intake. Didn't help low-end torque any but the top end was amazing. I borrowed the picture from the guy I sold it to. Don't think it would fit under the hood of the Festiva it some ways I wish I had to back so I could try!
I did something very similar with my stock airbox. I also ran out the door when the guy at Autozone told me that a K&N was almost fifty bucks. I did a little research, and there is a fairly new company called http://www.spectreperformance.com that sells an identical filter for about $28.00. Just cross reference the K&N number on the Spectre website, then go order it at Autozone. The Autozone clown didn't even know they carried the brand, so it must be fairly new?? Seems to work as well as any K&N I've tried.

They don't have a cross-reference for the K&N 33-2222, which is what Festys use.
