it says in the pic below that the 91-92 has a g5rm trans... are the 91-92 escort gts cable clutch and the other years are hydo? i have never look that hard at the junk yard so i dont know...

My engine came from a '92 EGT. I had a hydro. I have a g5mr from a 91 capri. It has cable.'89L 110k mi. BP/G swapped
'90LX 68k mi. wrecked 12/14 RIP

This is correct. The G5MR is really a G15MR. So the difference between a G15MR and G25MR: it is a generation thing. The 1 and the 2 stand for the generation of the tranny. I have no idea what the difference is between the first generation or the second. do you have the gearing ratios for any of the vehicles that came with the G25MR? If I get some numbers, I can update the other thread. I know in the protege the gear ratios didn't change between gen 1 and gen 2. I have gear ratios for most of the different G5MRs but the only gear ratios I have for the G25MR is in the protege , although I do have final gear ratios for some other G25MRs. the one outta a kia sephia 94-96 is the strongest.
I think hot wheels has 1 for sale. Problem is they have an internal spline count of 28 where we need the 26 spline count to fit the axles, but this lets you use the MSP LSD
