        The people that make the name FORD MOTOR corp, or general motors are just ignorant and dont understand the diffrences. No wonder they build crappy cars and rely on foreign people like mazda to produce cars and sell them under there name. They just use those names because it makes them feel like there important.

        Sorry to crash this thread but the OP's question has been answered. It just really bothers me when someone says there gonna drop a MOTOR in there car. Engine just sounds better and more important lol.

        I believe the only reason the term MOTOR refers to ENGINE is because people has had it wrong for so many years, same for oxford!

        Someone throw up the meaning for engine please.

          Engine: n- an internal combustion motor

                  Honda Motor Company, Mazda Motor Corporation... So our company is crap too?

                  Stop rejecting reality people, an engine is a motor and using the term "motor" is not wrong.
                  Current cars:
