My thinking is that just having a manual EGT will make the swap a lot smoother, less running and searching around for parts. Just for peace of mind. I will wait it out.
I understand where you are coming from, but I don't think it is true. What you need extra is a tps sensor, and an ecu. Overall you may spend $50 extra dollars. That and the auto tranny will most likely have less abuse than a standard engine.
