  • How are you guys mounting the Radiators in the B6T/G5MR cars?

I saw a bunch of people getting civic radiators so I bought one but I can't fathom how it would even attempt to fit in there.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

You got a half size one right? It should be roughly the same dimensions as the stocker. The benefit is that the outlet points straight back so you can set it forward on the core support.

It has to be one of the half size ones. You need to cut off the lower outlet and reweld it to the side so it clears the front motor mount. I had to move the lower mounts around and set it in at a angle so it'd clear the turbo.

Yeah I got a half size one, not the one that goes completely across. This is the one I got:

i still find it odd that the b6t requires a diff radiator and relocation.

I managed to keep my stock radiator in place with a BP-T and g5mr. then again i also didnt use a crossmember so my whole engine-trans sits quite lower by comparison.

Its not required. It just cools better than a festiva one.

relocation is required but not the different radiator itself.

I think I ran mine once in a little over 100* weather and it worked just fine, granted here in MN thats an EXTREME rarity that temps ever get that high. Usually we consider it hot during the summer if it peaks 90*.

I could see some huge benefits to the upgrade however if i lived farther south where summer temps run 90*+ most of the summer.
