I've put like 3.8 quarts in mine before and had no problems. I'm pretty sure the spec is 3.6 quarts.

the local auto parts place told me that from a dry fill it is 3.8 and for a refill it is 3.4.

i dunno why a refill would be different unles it wasnt all draining out, which hopefully isnt the case.
