    Besides a good, fresh tune up, a few easy mods are:

    Free up the intake and exhaust.
    Bump up the timing.

    It won't be a big improvement, but it will be noticeable.

    It works for my B3.
    Festiva: Because even my dog can build a Honda.

      Doi doi, some guys say to put some extra holes in the bottom of the stock airbox. That's if you have a fuel injected engine.

      Is your B1 fuel injected or carbed? Ah, CARBED. I went back and read your first post.

      You might find out if any other carbs will fit your engine. We don't know what else was available in the Philippines. However, aren't there Kia Pride car clubs there? I think there are.

        @doi doi, just because it would be cool to have a festiva with a B1 in the states . Good luck on your car.

          good am!
          @Safety Guy:yes, its a carbed..B1 1.1L 8 valve SOHC engine..a B1 engine its just the same with the B3 in terms of the looks outside particularly the cylinder head cover..maybe the internals of a B3 is advance than a B1..i want to know if there is a advance auto parts for B1 like for example: camshaft,etc..something like that that will enhance the power of it..

          yeah, there's a club here in the philippines..the kia pride club..but still engine swapping is their suggestions.i cant afford to it for now.LOL

          im surfing in the internet what carburetor will fit in B1 engine..ive read a post in the Kia Pride club that a Suzuki alto carb will fit..but did not indicated their if it's for B1 engine..

          @Gforcefd:thanks sir!you do have a nice festiva.
          "i am the difference":cheers:

            Do you have junkyards to go to and find Pride B1s to compare with B3s? Or would anyone in the Pride Club have parts for you to look at?

            I would think that the carb plate/heater pad would be the same for both engines, but I don't know for sure.

            Also, order carb plate gaskets for both B1 and B3. A gasket should not cost that much and will show you the pattern to compare with each other. That might work if you can't get the parts to compare directly.
