i have a 1990 festy with the dash ripped out no fenders or hood motor is solidly covered in oil and it still fires up every single day!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah forgot too mention it has 315K!!!!!1992 white L, Bp, American racing 13's, stock trans.
1991 White L, BP/F5MR, protege header, full aspire swap with gr2's, seats, and sway bar, 15" konig's, short throw, escort console.
1991 blue L, 5 speed.
1988 red L-plus-all stock.

and thats the reason i bought a chromoly one, not an aluminum one... its a tiny bit heavier, but i like my feet and done want to loose them.... cutting off stuff thats ment to hold stuff together is risky, you run the risk of it coming apart and maybe killing you, so BE CAREFUL if you do do this...

just an update, i just got my fly wheel back and he couldnt believe he could take 5 lbs off the flywheel, i weighed it, and it at 11.5 lbs, i am installing the new engine in the car tonite, the flywheel should help my cam get in to the power band real good!

agree with blkfordsedan.
that is why short shifters are there also.
mine is a kia pride with b5 engine and upon climbing a 45 degree parking ramp here in the office (ours is on the 5th flr) i have no problem since the body of our ride is lite.
